Pre-flop betting phase

Ante bets
In poker, players must make an ante bet before the game begins. This is a predetermined amount that goes towards the pot seeding. Ante bets are mandatory in cash games, but are optional in tournaments. During the ante phase, players can also make additional bets known as backdoor bets. These bets help players gain equity on drawing hands, and they can also be used to bluff opponents.
In Texas Hold’em, players must place an Ante bet before they are dealt three cards. The player then decides whether or not their hand beats the dealer’s. If the player thinks they have a hand strong enough to beat the dealer’s hand, they place a Play wager equal to their Ante bet. If the player does not believe their hand is good enough to beat the dealer, they may fold and forfeit their Ante bet.
Side pot
A side pot in poker is a separate pot that is created when one player goes all-in. All the players who remain in the main pot contribute the same amount to this side pot. However, if more than two players go all-in, they can also create more than one side pot. In this situation, the player who went all-in will win the main pot but lose all his or her stake in the side pot.
Sometimes, a side pot is bigger than the main pot. This occurs when a player all-ins with a smaller amount, but other players have a lot of chips behind him. In such a case, the side pot will be bigger than the main pot, allowing a weaker hand to win.
Dealer’s choice
Dealer’s choice is a poker variant in which the dealer decides on the format of the game. This style is popular in home poker games, but is not often seen online. Usually, players agree on the format before the dealer’s turn. It can be difficult for new players to understand.
